Valkeakoski, Säkkisaari's plan and master plan
The planning area is located about four kilometres to the south-west of the city centre, in the southern part of Sack Island. It covers an area of about 19 hectares. In addition, a land-use master plan will be drawn up for the entire area of the island. The formula makes it possible to build apartment buildings, townhouses and separate private houses. Other facilities serving the area comprise mostly club and beach lounges for shared use, as well as commercial, shop and restaurant facilities. The natural location of these is close to a small marina in the area. In addition to the above uses, a space reservation may be assigned to the area for private or public local services, such as for example early childhood education facilities.
