Mellunpuisto residential area, Helsinki, Finland

Mellunpuisto residential area, Helsinki, Finland

Mellunpuisto is a residential area located in Helsinki, completed in 1968, consisting of a total of seven three-storey residential buildings without elevators from two different housing companies. The housing associations explored their possibilities: whether it is worthwhile to make a major renovation to the properties or to replace the current housing stock with a new, denser residential block. Housing companies, the City of Helsinki and A-Insinöörit have launched a regional development project in Mellunpuisto, which aims to demolish additional construction.
