Kauhajoki solar and wind power park

Kauhajoki solar and wind power park

A significant solar and wind power park is planned for Kauhajoki. If implemented, the park would bring nine wind turbines and two solar energy production areas to South Ostrobothnia, partly on former peat bogs. As the main consultant for the ATP Palloneva project, A-Insinöörit is responsible for preparing the partial master plan and coordinating the environmental assessment.

ATP Palloneva Oy is planning a park combining solar and wind power production in the Kauhajoki city area. The area to be zoned for solar panel fields would also be located partly on the Kurikka city side. The EIA report on the environmental impacts of the project and the draft partial master plan are currently on display.

The Palloneva pohjoinen master plan project is part of a complex formed by several wind farms in the Kauhajoki and Kurikka areas. The plans cover a total of nine wind turbines and two solar energy production areas, totaling 300–700 MW, in a large area of 1,180 hectares. The investment aims to strengthen green energy self-sufficiency in South Ostrobothnia.

A-Insinöörit, as the main consultant, is responsible for the zoning of the project area and the landscape, noise, cultural environment and stormwater studies essential for the impact assessment.
