A new design unit in the capital region – engineering company J. Sund to become part of AINS Group
The structural and element engineering company J. Sund is merging with AINS Group via a corporate deal. As a result, AINS Group will establish a new structural engineering unit in the capital region, strengthening its structural engineering services in the commercial and residential construction sector in the area.

Established in 2011, J. Sund offers data-model-based wood, steel and concrete structure design services to even the most challenging construction projects.
The company’s references include a variety of industrial, railway and residential construction projects, including Helsinki City Rail Loop’s station area, Vantaa Energia’s waste power plant, Harjavalta’s hydroelectric power station and the residential properties As Oy Helsingin Kanvaasi and As Oy Helsingin Käpylän Posteljooni. In the course of its history, the company has designed more than 50 residential properties.
Its 13 structural engineers in Porvoo, Helsinki and Tampere will continue at AINS Group as existing employees.

The corporate deal took place on 1 March 2023. J. Sund will continue its operations as AINS Group’s subsidiary under its present name until the operations are merged at the end of the year.
AINS Group’s structural engineering segment, which focuses on new construction, employs a total of 420 structural engineering experts and designers, 50 of whom are based in the capital region.
